Empire State of Mind
All right, I’m trying to come back to Earth now…I’m sitting on the couch in my living room typing this thinking, “was I really just in New York yesterday?!” What a whirlwind and AMAZING trip. I don’t think I’ve ever had a “bad” trip to NY, but this one was beyond. For one, I was able to stay at The Empire Hotel, just across the street from Lincoln Center. You don’t understand how completely better this made my trip (see last photo for the amazing view of Lincoln Center we had from our 8th-floor perch…even though the day we arrived it was pouring rain!)!
(A) I didn’t have to trample thousands of blocks in my heels (I didn’t even have to “change” from my flats to heels, something I admit I do from time to time.). (B) The hotel was super swank. (I had been inside before, but never actually stayed at the hotel.) (C) The food and drinks were beyond. (We ate at Ed’s Chowder House the last night there, and the seafood and chowder were YUM.)
Although I didn’t spend much time resting, when I did sleep in it (I did squeeze in a nap the first day there!), the bed was really comfy…mostly due to the super-luxe Italian Frette linens. The shower had a “rain” spout on the ceiling…my absolute fav…and toiletries were by L’Occitane, so I just used those the entire time. LOVE.
The service the entire time was great, and I honestly can’t say anything bad about our stay (besides that it wasn’t long enough!). Obviously, it was catered to the Fashion Week crowd (there was even a cocktail called “Don’t Feed the Models,” haha), and this made it worth the while. We were there to enjoy Fashion Week, and that’s what we did! So, thank you to The Empire Hotel staff…we’re definitely coming back for more! xoxo
