Kelly Helfman Says Glam is the Hottest Accessory Trend in Fashion
The fashion industry’s most important event, WWDMAGIC will back with a bang next month in Las Vegas. With more than 550 of the best ready–to-wear and accessories brands in young contemporary and women’s fashion, WWDMAGIC is THE place to see the trends of tomorrow. We caught up with Vice President of WWDMAGIC, Kelly Helfman, who rounded up the top ready-to-wear and accessory trends for the coming season.
“In this day of the beauty tutorials and influencers – the beauty industry has blown up and beauty products (GLAM) have become a hugely important trend!” says Kelly. Millennials use an average of 13 beauty products on their face daily, so it’s critical that RTW stores add beauty products to their lineup.
As a result, WWDMAGIC is launching GLAM, a curated beauty area on the show floor. It’s all about millennial beauty – affordable cosmetics, nail polish, lashes and more. Watch for brands like Hollywood Fashion Secrets, MakeUp Eraser, B’Livinn, Ready To Wear, Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics and Sarah Horowitz Parfums.
“In the world of ready-to-wear, the trends I’m tracking are completely wearable and have taken inspiration from classic looks and then current culture modernized into what will become key fashion pieces,” according to Kelly. “And I love elevating a simple outfit with bold accessories! The coming season’s accessory trends are bigger, bolder and broader than year’s past. Yes, accessories still include jewelry, eyewear and headwear…but now, you can also accessorize with beauty products and tech accessories. Think headphones, phone cases, battery packs, nail polish, lip color, etc. That’s why our new GLAM@WWDMAGIC area focuses on the hottest new accessory – beauty products!”
