BCBG: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week F/W 2012
By Tiffany Piñero, Fashion Week Correspondent
What better way to start off the New York Fashion Week hoopla than with the BCBG show! The theme of said show could’ve been “color block ’til you drop.” This trend will still be in full effect for Fall 2012, but it comes with a decadence. In rich hues of a regal rust, golden carmel and luxe fur. Oh wait, that last one isn’t a color so much as the texture that stole the show!
Dresses (lots of them), and a few separates came down the runway in sheer fabrics, some paired with pleats. But it was the outerwear styled over many of the looks that had us onlookers in a buzz. If it’s possible for fur to become more glamorous, Lubov and Max Azria did just that. Some pieces saved this luxurious adornment simply for the sleeves. There were shoulder pieces and even a handbag, all in the name of opulence. The collection was very true to the BCBG style while adding in modern elements of that sporty-chic look, which we’ll def be getting in large doses in the coming seasons.
