Ruffian: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week F/W 2012
Ruffian blew me away last fall with their spring line, so I was really looking forward to going to this show again this season. And can I just say, I was not disappointed?!
For fall, Brian Wolk and Claude Morais, creative directors for Ruffian, went with a more tailored, yet still very feminine look. The English Countryside was the backdrop for their runway collection. Jackets, jackets and more jackets. From short jackets, to field coats and smoking coats, girlies, if you don’t have a fabulous (fabulous!) wool for next fall, you’re missing out.
Lots of tweed and plaid strutted down the runway, which is always a great change from solid hues for fall. Pops of color are making their way back next season! Reds, pinks and blues are def the hot hues for fall at Ruffian. Cropped pants in olive and khaki were also prevalent, which I LOVE for showing off those fabulous heels! Speaking of, I adored the color blocked patent heels (yes, I squealed with delight when I saw them.).
Mixing textiles and plaids is also something to look for next fall. With Ruffian, classic chic seemed to be a recurring theme. Brimmed hats in autumn hues were also spotted on just about every model. Ruffian hit it out of the park again this season. With their always-present razor-sharp tailoring, you can’t go wrong with any piece from this warm and feminine collection. Anyone up for tea?
