Tibi: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2012
By Tiffany Piñero, Fashion Week Correspondent
A more sophisticated Tibi showed up at this year’s fashion week, and I for one, was attracted to this elegant evolution. It was all about the things that matter in garments, impressive fabrics, strong silhouettes and clean details. There was a strong menswear influence on the collection, but that Tibi femininity we have grown to covet was very much present in the flow of the crepe de chine and even in the refreshing color scheme.
Concise tops and go-with-the-flow bottoms were the perfect marriage of pristine and bohemian tendencies. The show was given an overall edge as leather pieces popped in and out of the collection, including a perforated leather mini dress that caught the eyes of so many. I’m pretty sure it even lit up the eyes of Tibi’s leather-clad front row, which included Sophia Bush and Olivia Palermo, who were both wearing pieces from the current fall collection (also pictured is Emma Roberts).
