Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2011: Jenny Packham
Jenny Packham‘s S/S 2011 collection was at 9:00 – yes, A.M.!!! You know I wanted to see it bad because I got up that early. And I’m sooo glad I did because I scored a front row seat. You heard me. I felt cooler than I ever had before – lol. British designer Jenny Packham is not just a rising star in my book, she’s already a star. And she dresses stars from Miley Cyrus to Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel, Jenny knows the red carpet and how to dress anyone for it. My jaws dropped open at the sight of this collection – and they pretty much stayed on the floor for all 35 looks.
Inspiration comes from debutante balls and magical moonlight parties. Don’t you already feel like you were there? Shell pink chiffon and marbled satin encapsulated the runway, and dainty crystal belts hung delicately from many of the gowns. The beads were pretty amazing, and the draping on everything fabulous. There were both short and long dresses, but I couldn’t help but fall hard for the long ones, full of so much beauty, I could only be in heaven to wear one of these pieces. Chicettes, these are not for the faint of heart. These are what you call gowns. Look for Ms. Packham to do amazing things this year.
P.S. Hair was by Amy Farid for Bumble and Bumble and make-up by Charlotte Tilbury. Shoes? By Gina for Jenny Packham.
