Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2011: Monique Lhuillier

Attending the Monique Lhuillier show is like a little girl anticipating an afternoon ofdress-up with all the frills. And frills there were. From start tofinish, my fancies were tickled as bold and beautiful designs glided down the runway. Dresses embedded with shine, bodices withexquisite details, and skirts full of glorious volume and texture, that I once thought only existed in fairytales, until today.
The collection was packed with styles worthy of the red carpet and I am sure it helped to have some red carpet fans such as Emma Roberts, Alexis Bledel and Perry Reeves in the front row. Now I know these ladies have real events to go to in their red carpet gowns, but even my imagination went into a tizzy of fantasy charity balls and award shows I would be attending wearing my Spring 2011 showstopper. Okay, so maybe none of these dresses are realistically in my future, there is something that we can all take from this show and that is the refined color palette. Supple shades of straw, blues more intense than that of exotic bodies of water, a sharp jeweled green and then there was red. Radiant, gorgeous, red, that was like a couture stop sign, halting all eyes as it passed by. No stone was left unturned for the avid Lhuillier fan, it was all there down to the smallest detail, and it was all amazing.
