Inspiring Sunnies
I just found out about Westward \ Leaning last week, and already celebs are out and about in these chic sunnies. Emily Blunt wore the “Ultramarine” lapis lazuli style at LAX this week. The proceeds for the Ultramarine style will support education funds for youth in Afghanistan, the exclusive origin of lapis lazuli.
What’s special about these sunglasses, besides the fact that they’re stunning? Each of the nine styles (which are all based off the classic (and flattering) Wayfarer design I adore so much) contain a different embellishment right at the temple. And the name/story/embellishment is in honor of a person, place or organization that has contributed to social progress. And for every pair sold, $10 is donated to education programs related to the specific style purchased. Pretty nifty, huh?
Being a southern gal and all, obviously my fav is the “Louisiana Purchase” style below in honor of Jazz from New Orleans (the unique material is tumbled brass). Not to mention, I’m a sucker for anything tortoise shell (I even have a tortoise shell ponytail holder…seriously.). All of the shades retail for around $200 and are beautiful in their own way. Check them out at westwardleaning.com.
