Raphael Cennamo: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week F/W 2012
By Sarah Kleinhenz, Fashion Week Correspondent
Hello, Gorgeous! Those were the exact words that came out of my mouth when I stepped foot into Rafael Cennamo‘s fall presentation. Sort of a dark glamour theme to this collection, RC captured the essence of a woman who wants classy, elegant pieces but with a little bit of edginess and uniqueness to them. (hello, right here)
Silk, chiffon, jacquard and tulle were used to create gowns in rich colors like metallic black, rich sapphire blue, rose gold, cherry red and steel grey. The detail and beading on some of the gowns was exquisite! These gowns hung exactly right in all the right places. They draped the body as if it was made for that exact girl. The time and energy that went into these pieces was, I’m sure, a labor of love.
“The Fall 2012 collection is inspired by a brave huntress that dwells in the Nordic woods and the lethal concrete jungle of New York City.” — Rafael Cennamo
And we can’t forget the fur wraps, too! You all know I was gushing over those fabulous pieces. Pairing them with midnight-blue cocktail dresses just makes any girl scream with delight. And the icing on the cake? Girls were wearing rustic tiaras. Ah, a Cinderella moment, perhaps? All were uneven, unique and just made the outfit that more glamorous.
