Tracy Reese: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2012
By Sarah Kleinhenz, Fashion Week Correspondent
“The Spring 2012 collection achieves a feminine yet relaxed mood through the juxtaposition of romance and sport, comfort and flattery.” This was the statement made by Tracy Reese about her inspiration for her newest collection. She wanted to focus more on modern fluidity and bring romance to the forefront of her designs. TR’s known for her feminine style of design, and this season was no different. She did mix in a few patterns and sport-inspired pieces, but overall, delicate and girly were the two words that popped into my head when watching the final walk last weekend.
Some of the models carried parasols, which I absolutely adored! It brought a sort of Old World throwback-feel to the show. It definitely had a feel of southern charm to it, which you girlies know I just adore! Subtle khaki and blush hues were mixed with soft pastel shades of waterfall, misty blue and teal. TR made the gradual climb to neon hues, which seem to be on trend for spring. Lace was the fabric of choice for most of her garments, and with each model walking out to the runway, I was more and more in love with her collection. The amazing hairstyles, from sideswept to messy ‘do’s, were created by the always chic and affordable TRESemme. And the makeup? None other than the fabulous Mally. (If you haven’t heard of her or checked her out, do so NOW! She is definitely one to watch in the beauty world.)
P.S. If you look closely at the front row in the video below, that fabulous red hat is on the head of celeb stylist June Ambrose! Hope she enjoyed the show like I did…
