Tadashi Shoji: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2012
Tadashi Shoji is a personal fav of mine (and has been since I wore his gown to prom in 1998…omigosh, that dates me!). Last spring was breathtaking, and this collection is no different. But, I do love the mix of vivid color into the gowns. The tried-and-true neutrals and black hang around (I can’t help but swoon over the black gown shown below!), but those pops of pink, yellow, green and purple are beyond incredible. In fact, the collection is an “homage to the enchanting beauty and splendor of the tulip,” the designer says.
And it doesn’t matter whether it’s a short cocktail dress or a long, mesmerizing red carpet style gown, Tadashi does them all right. The last look is above and isn’t it amazing? The ivory and lily floral print silk chiffon gown drapes so perfectly off one shoulder and blows in the breeze to reveal those amazing pair of heels. So, what else to add to your must-have list come spring/summer? Floral applique and lace; beading. You know, for your next red carpet. Wink.
P.S. Celebrities who attended included Twilight‘s Julia Jones, True Blood‘s Carrie Preston and singer JoJo.
