M.Patmos: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2012
I’m really bummed I couldn’t make it downtown to The Standard last week while in New York (sometimes, I need a clone, y’all!), so even though I didn’t attend, I received these images from the M.Patmos collection and couldn’t help but share them. I heart this collection so much! The work of designer Marcia Patmos is always understated and elegant. Casual, yet refined. Take an ordinary knit dress, add the chicest little sparkles and you’ve got a fan in me! Squeal!
Inspired by the work of contemporary New York artist Mary Judge and the book The Birth of Cool: California Art, Design and Culture at Midcentury, everything in the spring collection is very fresh with clean lines. Pale neutrals were infused with shots of citron, gold, silver and blue. And, of course, I love the metallics. It’s like turning an ordinary girl into an extraordinary girl. Once I saw these photos, I knew I wanted all of it. (I would like to think I would look as good in that metallic skirt as the model, sigh…but I am most def going to try this little scarf trend around the neck and under the belt…love!)
P.S. The collection is available at Barneys New York, Kirna Zabete, Le Bon Marche, Harvey Nichols Hong Kong, and other high-end specialty boutiques around the world.
