Jill Stuart: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2012
By Sarah Kleinhenz, Fashion Week Correspondent
I was really excited to see the Jill Stuart show Saturday. She’s one designer I can count on to have great looks every season. Her clean lines and effortless designs always win me over. And her spring line was no different. There were fun prints (palm trees, anyone?), scalloped hemlines, and rich color throughout this dreamy collection. I love the candy-store-esque color scheme of this collection. It made me want to hop on the train and head to Dylan’s Candy Bar.
Melon, yellow, apricot and blue hues draped the models as they strutted down the runway. Of course, we can’t leave out swimsuits for spring. And girlies, most of them are one-piece looks. So if you’re looking for something different or a change from your bikini, keep an eye out for a one-piece for spring. I’m LOVING the colorblocking for spring and that it’s still a trend to keep. It reminds me of a box of delicious macaroons (ok, I must be hungry writing this post!). They aren’t the super-bold colors we’ve seen in the past, but bold in a sense of rich color. The colors are more along the lines of lighter takes on previous seasons. It’s going to be fun, flirty and feminine for spring, and I personally can’t wait to get my hands on these romantic looks.
P.S. Kris Humphries, Scott Disick, Brad Goreski, Jamie King and Emma Roberts were some celebs who came to see this amazing collection. I was hoping for a Kardashian sighting, but wasn’t as lucky (sigh). (If you look closely in the video, you’ll see Kris and Scott watching the show from the front row!)
