Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2011: Tadashi Shoji
Where do I start? The Tadashi Shoji S/S 2011 presentation on Friday morning was my favorite of any so far. Period. We’re talking eye candy. Of course, I don’t have anywhere to wear these gowns, but if I did? Omigosh. An homage to the elegance and romance of the 15th century, the collection was inspired by Renaissance frescos, using the icy cool color palette of Venetian landscape and architecture.
My favorites were the ivory embroidered lace one-shoulder gown (love the bow), second above, and the antique-hued crinkled silk chiffon floral strapless dress below. Isn’t it cute as a button? So tea-party-worthy. I even got to see Mr. Shoji up close and personal (he made my high school prom dress, people, this is big!). Hair was by Rodney Cutler for Cutler NYC/Redken and make-up was by Luc Bouchard and the MAC Pro team. And shoes? By Joan & David.
