Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2011: BCBG Max Azria
The BCBG Max Azria show Friday morning had 37 looks in the S/S 2011 collection, and they were all much more muted than I expected from the label (lots of white!). Nonetheless, BCBG, inspired by timeless, effortless, clean and versatile silhouettes, gets it right every season. I loved all of the color-blocking, and, of course, the bright coral. This hue is going to be big for S/S 2011! Lots and lots of silk and crepe fabrics that make us yearn again for the simpleness of spring. There were several short jumpsuits (which excites me) and a beautiful black tulle embroidered gown to finish the show.
Supposedly, Anna Wintour was in the house, as well as Ashlee Simpson, but it was so packed I never saw them. I did spot Elle editors Joe Zee and Robbie Meyers on the way out as well as former IMG head honcho Fern Mallis (she’s worn her TOMS shoes much of the week!). Hair was by Neil Moodie for Bumble and Bumble and make-up by Charlotte Willer for Maybelline New York. I assume all of the shoes (which included python ankle-wrap heels!) were BCBG (hello, love).
