Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2011: DKNY
If ever there was a Superbowl of all fashion shows for me, this one was it. One word=amazing. I tweeted several weeks back that this would be my dream show, so when I got an actual invite to DKNY, I was honored and flattered. And it didn’t disappoint one bit. Turns out I found the perfect spot to watch the show – just at the end of the runway (sorry for a few heads in the shots). The intimate show of less than 500 took place in the West Village at the Stephan Weiss Studio. The S/S 2011 collection consisted of classics with a twist – a sexy kick. Think black, white, nude and navy, but don’t forget the prettiest hues of marachino, rouge, lagoon and azure. Breathtaking. If you like the popular DKNY Cozy, you’ll love the new Cozy scarf that ties over absolutely everything.
Jumpsuits are still chic as are silk blouses, chinos and trench coats. Sunglasses are big and bold (love) and pumps have ankle straps (not a huge fan, but can get used to it, I guess). Even the swimsuits (one shoulder or strapless one pieces) were inspiring with graphic prints and ruffled details.
P.S. Here’s the scene in this photo below – I thought the artwork (the invitation looked the same) designed by artist Monsieur Cabinet of Leeds was amazingly genius. Hair was by Eugene Souleiman for Wella Professionals and make-up by Charlotte Willer for Maybelline New York.
This is quite possibly the prettiest shade of green ever. Makes me actually consider wearing a jumpsuit come spring.
I’m not a floral person, but could totally see myself wearing this with all of the dainty details and the beautiful green and brown hues. So lovely.
