NY Fashion Week F/W 2010: Christian Siriano
1960s Parisian women was the inspiration of this latest Christian Siriano collection, and my sis G. had this show covered from, let’s hear it, row #4! Yep, she got some great shots of Christian’s fall collection and loved every minute of it. (Although, she was disappointed the designer only peeked his head out at the finale for a second to wave to the crowd!) Celeb sightings? None other than Amber Rose (Kanye’s gal pal) had shutterbugs flashing away as well as Mena Suvari in a bright blue frock and a redheaded Kristen Johnson. Meanwhile, the designer’s boyfriend, Brad Walsh, sat front and center.
The fall collection certainly didn’t disappoint with plenty of classic sheaths and pencil skirts mixed down the runway with those beautiful evening gowns he does so well. The show stopper was by far the fuchsia finale dress (a tulle wonderland – gorge!) modeled by none other than Sessilee Lopez. But, we also love this shimmery number here complete with one of fall’s favorite trends, draping.
One of the highlights of the show, of course, was the shoe collection for Payless. Fierce, indeed. Like antique furniture! Check out this platform pump with an artisan heel made to resemble a clawfoot. They’re expected to hit stores in September. So practice your walk until then, ok? – xoxo
