Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2011: Ports 1961
I almost left the line (I’m pretty impatient, especially when I’m in heels!) waiting for the Ports 1961 show because it took so long to get inside, but let me tell you. Once inside, it was completely worth it. The S/S 2011 collection was absolutely stunning – all 41 looks. Designer Fiona Cibani was inspired by the allure of the deserts with delicate draping, a combo of muted neutrals and gem tones, and even iridescent crystals for evening wear. Pants are taken to another level – so chic! And I just loved the dolman-sleeved coat below – so, so lovely. The pops of color from a magenta-toned “rosette” to a jaw-dropping sapphire, balanced perfectly with the more muted ivory pieces in the collection.
The show ended with the most gorgeous gowns on Earth, including the embellished gown below. Hair was by Orlando Pita for Orlo Salon and make-up was by Val Garland and the MAC Pro team.
P.S. Olivia Palermo from The City sat front row – her jacket was Ports 1961. (she’s tiny in person!)
