Kelly Helfman Shares On WWDMAGIC, Women’s Trends
You may have seen our chat with the queen of footwear, Leslie Gallin, of FN PLATFORM earlier this week. Our countdown to MAGIC wouldn’t be complete without getting the scoop on what’s in store for apparel and accessories, which is why we’ve called in Kelly Helfman, Vice President and Brand Director of WWDMAGIC, FAME, Accessories the Show and POOL. Kelly gives us a glimpse at what’s in store for WWDMAGIC and the women’s trends all fashionistas are dying to know.
In addition to the fashion, WWDMAGIC launched an area called GLAM just last February! The area has more than doubled in size and features the hottest beauty brands on the market. We had a chance to chat with the beloved beauty boy, Makeup by Samuel, who will also be making an appearance at WWDMAGIC next week. Here’s everything you need to know:
* New Areas – A brand new area called ON:LINE will launch in Young Contemporary, in partnership with FashionGo. This area represents the evolution of the tradeshow experience by merging the traditional tradeshow with the digital experience. WWDMAGIC will be the first ever tradeshow to introduce a unique concept like this. A highly-curated group of 30 brands will showcase a sampling of their collections so that retailers can get a feel for the style and quality. Buyer’s can then go online and order the full collection, which can consist of anywhere from 200-500 pieces. This streamlines the tradeshow experience and allows buyers ease and access to these brand’s products 24/7.
* The 90’s Are Back – The overall theme this show is the 90’s. WWDMAGIC will feature a 90’s fashion installation (complete with arcade games!) and will highlight some its best trends – not limited to scrunchies, overalls and skinny glasses!
* Celebrity Appearances – Speaking of the 90’s best, singer JoJo will make an appearance at the show! Don’t miss her performance at 5:30pm on Monday, 8/13 in the WWDMAGIC Hub.
* Top Trends in ready-to-wear & accessories – Kelly was kind enough to round up her top trends for the coming season in both RTW and Accessory categories:
