If you’re new to I Heart Heels, you’re thinking I’m crazy. Gold-striped workout pants? Sneakers? Am I in the right place? Well, yep, you are! And welcome. This week it snowed here, and it’s been CRAZY cold down south, so I thought I would let you in on what I’m wearing in my “down” time. You know, when I’m not traipsing around the office and grocery store in my shiny peep-toes (duh).
It’s called gold-striped yoga pants plus quilted bomber jacket plus high-top sneakers (Air Force Ones, thanks). My winter workout formula. It’s the New Year (and blah, blah, blah…I know), so I’m dedicating myself back to fitness that I lost so much over the past six months, and especially year. While I don’t have time for three times a week Pilates classes a la when I stayed at home (sigh), I’ve found that there can still be a special place in a working mom’s heart for staying healthy and happy. And that’s key, y’all. When you’re healthy, you’re happy. It makes a difference!
Make a Gym Routine…in Gold-Striped Workout Pants
So I’m making myself (yes, making myself) go back to the gym every week. I’m not lying about it being easy at all! I think the hardest thing about it all is not the actual working out part. I rather enjoy my time doing cardio and lifting weights and getting in the zone with my 90s rap music (regulators, anyone?). The key is balancing it all. And what working mom really does balance it all? Amen? We don’t. We just have to find some time to dedicate to ourselves in order to be better moms and that includes any amount of time exercising. Mind. Body. Spirit. You’ll thank yourself. In gold striped pants, of course. Oh, and Air Force Ones and bomber jackets. You can’t go to the gym without style. Gasp.
Cheers to a happy and healthy New Year for all. Now, let me go throw away all the chocolate in my pantry because you know I’ll eat it. See ya around the elliptical? xoxo
