Whiny Wednesday: Sleep Training in the Zipadee-Zip
Soooo we’re still sleep training at our house. Yawn. And remember how I told you life here has been crazy (more on it later when I can address it)? Sleep training makes it terrible!! But I’m tryyyyying to be positive.
You know what? I’m not at all ashamed to admit I sometimes co-sleep. I’m still nursing…I have an older kid who crawls into our bed every, single night (little C sleeps away from the baby obviously) and I’ve finally just accepted it is what it is right now. I’m not going to stress myself out over it. baby L is great at sleeping in her crib for nearly half the night, but somehow I always wind up plopping her by me in a moment of complete and utter exhaustion (and sometimes it’s baby L and me in one room…D and little C in his room…sigh…romantic, right?). We moms do what we gotta do to get by.
So I told you about the swaddle transition the other day. I’ve now discovered another jewel called the Zipadee-Zip (otherwise dubbed in our house as the “owl suit” or the “penguin outfit” or the “starfish.”). Let’s face it, it’s silly looking! But. It. Works. It has been an amazing no-swaddle transition for us because she still feels cozy in it. And it’s a lightweight material, so even during this hot summer, it’s not too much. It gives me peace of mind to know she can still move in it if she turns over. So many moms swear by this thing, and that’s important!
While we’re still sleep training her, she’s slept way better in this than any other sack we own. I think over the coming months she’ll be ready to transition out of it, but until then, I’m ok enjoying her enjoying it. Hey, don’t forget to enter to win your own below!
And here are SEVEN USES FOR THE ZIPADEE-ZIP…it really is amazing and worth a try for your baby!
