Girl-Next-Door Charity Vance To Release New Album Tomorrow
Charity Vance is an amazing up and coming music artist. She’s been making waves – and tons of great music – over in Nashville as of late (although her roots come from her home state of Arkansas, where I hail, obvi.). If you’re an American Idol fan, you might have first seen her audition on Chicago’s season 9 where she was a finalist during Hollywood week. She’s come a long way since those days, and is releasing a new album tomorrow – when you’ll also be able to download it on iTunes. In fact, she just premiered a new video “It’s Alright” on MTV’s site. Exciting stuff! Her sound is so real and she’s the ultimate girl-next-door…I just love her! So I’m happy to share with you below some of her fav things – from music to coffee and heels. Hope you like it and her music!
I Heart Heels: Tell us all about your new album…exciting!
IHH: You make some amazing music videos. Tell us what that process is like and what you enjoy about it.
IHH: Who would be your dream collaboration on an album or video some day?
CV: I have so many people I’d be over the moon to collab with! I would love to write with Taylor Swift. She’s an amazing storyteller and has a great way of conveying stories down to the details with amazing melodies. Ellie Goulding is one of my absolute favorites, too.
“I had such a blast writing [the new album] and making a sound that’s the perfect companion for any sunny day. Just roll your windows down, turn it up and have a good time!” — Charity Vance
IHH: YouTube is a huge part of your following. How did you get started and do you think it’s important in your industry?
CV: YouTube is a huge part of the independent artist’s way of breaking out and building a following. It’s a chance to connect easily with fans around the world. It literally blows my mind and I tell anyone who wants to be a singer or music artist to get on YouTube ASAP because it’s an amazing tool for the independent artist.
IHH: I know you’re a coffee drinker, and I’ve even spotted you at Starbucks in the past. Coffee drink of choice?
CV: Oh coffee…my BFF, my main prescription, my morning sunshine…I’m so obsessed! I love lattes with either hazelnut or carmel, but I’m always up for trying new things. Every once in a while I’ll ask the barista what their fav drink is and try it for kicks. Can’t go wrong with coffee, if you ask me!
IHH: What kind of music and artists do you listen to?
CV: I love Ellie Goulding, Maroon 5, Sara Bareilles, Tegan and Sara, Zedd, Ed Sheeran, Lana Del Rey, Joni Mitchell, Elton John and so many more.
IHH: Your career has already grown so much since your trip to American Idol way back when. What do you hope to accomplish this year?
CV: Thank you so much! I’m super excited about the new sound I’ve been developing for “Love Me” and releasing it’s going to be so stellar – I’m honestly so ready! I really want to tour the EP and keep growing my YouTube.
IHH: Your makeup is always impeccable. Signature lipstick?
CV: I love MAC – Anything Red with blue undertones, or sweet pinks – “Russian Red” is an amazing classic.
IHH: What are a few shoe brands we might find in your closet?
CV: I’m a huge fan of Steve Madden, Aldo and Topshop!
