Whiny Wednesday: baby L’s (Cute!) Diapers
Diapers. Ahh….just when I finally caught a break. I mean, what am I thinking?! 🙂 Well, it’s back to diapers D. and I go, and to tell you the truth, I really don’t mind. It’s all a part of the sweet lil’ baby process, and if you could see these tiny things IRL, oh, girls, you’d squeal to pieces. baby L’s changing table is now stocked to the brim (and I’m still stocking it) with the cutest Honest diapers.
Several months ago I had a diaper battle within. Yes, if anyone can have those it’s me, I know. I struggled to figure out just what I wanted to do this go-round. With little C., he was born before Honest was born. So by the time these came out, we had already found our groove with another mainstream (organic, albeit) brand and would just schlep to our local retailer every few weeks. Might I mention that became a pain, since most of the time I was wearing sweatpants and baseball cap and did not want to be seen on my “diaper run.” Needless to say, this was one factor in my diaper decision. Something I could mail-order this time…but also something still very organic without chemicals (can you believe some diapers are horrible in this way?)…something fairly easy since we already have a toddler…and of course something we could afford. So when I decided upon Honest, the cuteness factor was just a bonus…score!
Since baby L. isn’t here yet, I’ll have to post a follow-up review as to how we like the diapers leakage-wise, fit-wise, etc. But, I do know my sister has used them forever and absolutely raves about them (as well as so many other customers). I love the ease of ordering the bundle online (it’s a bundle because it also comes with wipes, so I don’t have to worry about those, either!)…you can pause it, skip a month, add other things, the list goes on. The price is just the same as if I would buy some from the local store, but there’s no gas or inconvenience! I know I’ll love that. And then there’s the ease. One of my main struggles was whether to go cloth this time. It was actually a hard decision at first because I was very tempted to “go green” all the way or go home. I looked at several of the “hybrid” brands where I wouldn’t totally have to stand the ick factor all the way (gals, I’m squeamish) and could at least flush an insert that came inside of the diaper. But, in the long run, Honest seemed just as feasible, with much less maintenance (laundry wise and purchase wise). It just seemed like the best decision for our family, and the closest thing we could do next to cloth.
Kudos to moms who do have the time and patience for cloth…I really admire you! But for now, we’ll be sticking to these cuties and our dear ol’ Diaper Genie (it seemed to work just fine the first time). And I think it will make it easier on others who will be babysitting, or when we’re out and about or traveling. Right now we have a cabinet full of these hearts, as well as strawberries and another colorful print. Who knew one could get so exciting about changing diapers very soon, but I can’t wait to use these on her…and choose the patterns every month! 🙂
P.S. If you do decide to sign up, let me know and I’ll refer you! xoxo
