I’d say Happy Monday, but I don’t want all of you to hate me, so I’ll just say, let’s get this week started…how about that? And I bet once you start reading this post with celeb stylist and designer Robert Verdi you’ll start to have an amazing day! In case you haven’t left your shoe closet in awhile, RV has an affordable, chic (yes, it’s both!) sunglasses line with HSN now, and you’ve just got to take a peek. I’m personally obsessed with all things RV (yes, especially the sunnies), and clamor to his “style retreat” every fashion week. This guy knows his stuff and can be seen at so many shows looking red-hot (rocking his own sunnies everywhere he goes). It’s been a few years since we’ve featured him on I Heart Heels (funny last time I spoke to him I was seven months pregnant as well!), so I thought now would be the perfect time. I Heart Heels: Out of all of the accessories out there, why did you choose sunglasses to design? (I do think every time I’ve seen you, you’ve had on a pair!)
Robert Verdi: Sunglasses are the ultimate celebrity accessory. When you see pictures of your favorite celebrities on the street, snapped by paparazzi, they always have sunglasses on. They can make anyone feel anonymous and at the same time look like a movie star.
IHH: How can your sunglasses instantly transform an outfit?
RV: Sunglasses fine tune your look and make it perfect. So when you’re wearing your little black dress, sport a pair of over sized black Jackie-O frames. And when you’re wearing your favorite jeans with brown suede boots and and your cozy cashmere sweater, pick a pair of tortoise frames. In this way, sunglasses become the perfect punctuation to any outfit.

IHH: Summer’s over, are chic sunglasses still relevant all year long? What’s a great winter style?
RV: Sunglasses are not a summer accessory. They’re a fashion accessory meant to be worn all year long. Especially in the winter, to protect your eyes from sun damage. This time of year, I love a shield style or over sized goggle frame. You should always look like you’re heading to the ski-lodge for a cup of hot chocolate!
IHH: Do you ever wear your sunglasses inside?
RV: No one should wear sunglasses inside unless they’re Anna Wintour or a famous rapper.
IHH: How often will we see new styles in your HSN line…what do we have to look forward to in the next collection?
RV: I launch two big collections a year. One for Spring/Summer and a second for Fall/Winter. My next collection, I’ll be selling essential styles for women’s sunglasses wardrobes! So you’ll be able to order the perfect aviator, the classic wayfarer, and a glamorous over sized black frame all at one time.
IHH: Have any celebrities been spotted wearing your HSN line?
RV: Eva Longoria was the first to wear glasses from my collection. She’s a huge sunglasses lover and rocks all my stuff.
