Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Nanette Lepore
With Brooklyn-based band Brazilian Girls opening the Nanette Lepore show, nearly distracting the audience from the gorgeous spring 2013 collection, the runway was awash in a sea of bright pops of colors, gingham, florals and more. Deep seafoam greens, turquoises and teals all made an appearance, along with some corals, oranges and the ubiquitous black and white. NL’s show emphasized the designer’s iconic look; it was sporty, girly, beachy and a little bit retro, yet the color palette and cuts kept it fresh.
My favorite look? This green blazer. I swooned. This whole look popped for me, and I especially love how it felt both on trend and still classic.
Another look that caught the audience’s eyes was this draped black jumpsuit with a silky texture and sheer top. A stunning item that would work well for many occasions.
And of course, the celebrity sightings. Do you spot Stanley Tucci and stylist Robert Verdi (sunnies on his head), front and center?
