Neutrogena Goes Green (Love It)

A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to receive a cute-as-a-button (eco-friendly!) Bliss bag from our partners at Glam Media. Cue the squeals, folks! You know me, I’m completely absorbed with trying to make my family’s life better with the best products on the block (and not those that just “say” they are, mind you). So basically my bag was filled (and I mean filled…this is only about one-third of the goods!) with eco-friendly, natural Neutrogena products and tons more cool stuff (hello, bamboo utensils from Crate & Barrel??)! 

 

When I became pregnant and since I’ve become a mom (little C’s two now – can you believe?), I’ve started worrying way more about chemicals and everything that goes in, on and around my family’s bodies. Honestly, I should have looooong ago, but everyone has to start somewhere. And I hope you know there are so many “bad” products out there right now that most folks aren’t aware of – and don’t have time to research. So, I truly hope you’ll get some use out of this post here as I introduce to you the new Neutrogena Naturals line. It uses no harsh chemical sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, dyes or phthalates – in other words, the “bad” stuff. It makes me pleased as punch to know there is a mainstream brand out there trying help us all out. You know? They actually care!

And for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been trying out the Neutrogena Naturals Multi-Vitamin Nourishing Night Cream; Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover; Lip Balm; and Purifying Pore Scrub (not pictured as I totally left it on the beauty counter just before bed – le sigh…). In my “mom” world, the night cream is a must, and while it works to improve the radiance of my skin, I honestly love the fact that I can slather it on my skin before bed and pamper myself. It feels so good and clean on my tired self! I def need those vital nutrients and 10 years from now I’ll prob thank myself – whew. 

The scrub is amazing! My slightly sensitive skin is always freaked out to try new things like this, but never fear. I think Neutrogena makes some of the gentlest products on the market – to where this scrub doesn’t feel too harsh at all, yet it still gets deep down into the skin to clean house. My complexion is still great, and I feel at ease knowing I’m not slathering on chemicals everywhere. 

The makeup remover is probably one of my fav products from the line because it’s a cleanser and makeup remover in one (and you know how we moms like to multi-task). This is such a great product for everyday and can be used before bed each night (um, which is usually around midnight for moi). And can I mention, I LOVE the soft, subtle scent? The last product I’ve been using is the lip balm – and I actually just applied it before I began this post. It’s amazing to me that my lips still feel majorly moist. I’ve used plenty of balms at night before bed, and within seconds it’s as it if I never applied anything at all (and, yes, these were major brands). This formula has Vitamin E to nourish and soothe – and that it does. For just $2.99 – zomg. If this doesn’t convince you to “go green”, I’m not sure what will?

P.S. I have one last product that was included in my bag I’m obsessed with now – my new bobble. This reusable water bottle is the coolest thing EVER. It actually filters water as you drink because it has a replaceable carbon filter that just needs replaced every two months (and why couldn’t I invent something like this?). Every filter = 300 single-serve water bottles (that figure makes me shudder). So when the water travels through the filter, it’s ridding all of those nasty contaminants and chlorine (eek). So, you can actually use any ol’ tap water without becoming nervous. This bottle’s also BPA-, phthalate-, PVC-free. And it now travels with me to every. single. Pilates. class. LOVE.
