Jenny Packham: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week F/W 2012

The excitement of the Jenny Packham show was really a different feeling for a 9 a.m. event on a Monday morning. Show-goers were piling in and pleasantly surprised to see a petite and elegant Dita Von Teese posing as the flash bulbs went wild for her. With a list of major clientele making the “best dressed” list while wearing her gowns, such as Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift, Heidi Klum and even the Duchess of Cambridge, the question of Dita being the star of the moment was quickly answered when the show opened.
Feminine, body-conscious silhouettes coyly strut by to the mysterious melodic sounds of Lana Del Rey. It was a dark, but glamorous peek into a 1940’s film noir scene. The hair was impeccable peak-a-boo bangs with soft vixen curls – the look from head to toe was 100-percent femme fatale encrusted in romance. Standout pieces were jumpsuits – one in particular with a bejeweled collar! And gowns had a little bit of everything from sheer overlays, open backs and strong shoulders to beading on beading on beading and my favorite touch, belts. It was exquisite.
