alice + olivia: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week F/W 2012
By Tiffany Piñero, Fashion Week Correspondent
A Fashion Week not to miss presentation, of course, alice + olivia! It’s always equal parts festive fashion parade and social scene. One guest I didn’t know who would be in attendance? The gorgeous brigade of long gowns. What a welcomed party crasher!
Amongst the fancy and fascinating ready-to-wear of circle skirts, sheer tops and punchy pants were long, printed, sequined and cut-out numbers that had us all dreaming up our next black-tie invitation. Then I thought, I’ll just buy one and wear it for the entire month of September. Yes, these garments are that energetic and full of life that one piece could keep your attention for at least 30 days. Pretty impressive in the world of fashion these days.
What was also impressive were the drones of fabulous guests working their way around the room. Erin Andrews, Tinsley Mortimer, Johnny Weir and Kristin Chenoweth (whom I took a photo with below!) were stirring things up while DJ Mia Moretti and Violinist Caitlin Moe brought down the house, as per usual. Hoopla or not, this was an exciting collection that will have us eagerly anticipating a fall 2012 delivery and if you see me in Office Max prancing around in that black-and-white printed gown, don’t question it.
P.S. And aren’t designer Stacey Bendet’s little girls the most adorable ever?
