Carlo Pazolini Opens in Soho
By Sarah Kleinhenz, Fashion Week Correspondent
Despite a little snow, the fashion forward of New York turned out in numbers for Carlo Pazolini‘s Soho store opening (it’s the European designer’s very-first U.S. boutique!). With a red carpet and logo Fiat’s outside the door, I got the feeling that this wasn’t just any shoe store opening. And, boy, was I right! I couldn’t get my leopard wedges to run fast enough to get a peek inside.
DJ Solange Knowles was on hand to spin upbeat music while everyone sipped wine and champagne. The crowd was dancing, visiting and (most importantly) walking around admiring each one of the designer’s shoes. Not just a women’s brand, guys can also take part in owning some handsome and well-made kicks. For me, the best part was getting to check out all the fabulous shoes, eeek! I didn’t know where to start.
The store itself has sort of a space-age feel to it, with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, sleek orange and green shelves and inset lighting. It gives off total sex appeal, which coincides with the designs of the shoes and handbags. I could totally see each pair of shoes in my everyday wardrobe. What’s so amazing is that some shoes have a little unexpected detail to them, which draws you into fantasizing about how you would wear these fabulous shoes. And let me tell you, I came home and literally looked through my closet to see what I could pair all of those amazing shoes with, and it was just about my whole wardrobe.
A few celebs were also on hand to help celebrate the opening, including Adrienne Bailon, Olivia Palermo and Kelly Rutherford. Overall, this shoe line is one to put on your radar, girlies! If you’re looking for a good investment, a classic (yet sexy!) upgrade to your everyday pump, look no further than Carlo Pazolini. He is the definition of “one shoe can change your life.”
