Rebecca Taylor Spring 2012 Inspiration: Pared-Down Cool
Happy Fashion Week mode. WOW. I’ve been answering email after email like a crazy woman this past week, checking my mailbox outside the house religiously, opening jpegs, RSVPing, writing on my calendar until I can’t squeeze anything in anymore – and the list goes on and on. It’s full-on Fashion Week planning for I Heart Heels – we leave next week! I hope you love all of our coverage (we have a new correspondent, Sarah, and I just know you’re going to heart her like you do Tiffany!)!
Next Friday, I’ll be watching the Rebecca Taylor show at Lincoln Center, and yep, I’m pretty ecstatic (I mean, check out this image – so gorge! Did you know the brand turned 15 this year?). This experience is always so surreal, and believe me, I can never believe I’m actually watching a LIVE runway show. It always feels so fresh, fun and absolutely dreamy. Something I def dreamed up as a little girl.
So, we checked in this week with RT to find out her spring/summer collection inspiration, and here’s what she said!
“The Spring 2012 muse is contemporary, fresh, and ethereal. The collection emphasizes cut and color with unexpected cut-outs in silhouettes. Shades of oyster are highlighted by bold citrus colors of lemon, lime and tangerine. Cropped slouchy embellished sweaters, long skirts and voluminous outerwear in technical fabrics add edge while apron back dresses mixed with bone-colored snake leather bibs inject a pared-down cool attitude, which sets the tone for the Spring 2012 collection.” — Rebecca Taylor, designer
