Label We Heart: Helios & Luna

I always enjoy finding new clothing brands and designers. There’s just something refreshing about stumbling upon a great, new (to me) name, and clothes that are just so gorgeous you want to take them all home with you ASAP! That’s just how I felt when I walked into the Helios & Luna showroom. The line is slowly starting to make its way into designer boutiques and upscale department stores. Neiman Marcus, for one, is selling this brand as we speak! So they’re no shrinking violet, girlies…they’ve actually been around for almost 80 years!
The name Helios & Luna means the Sun and the Moon, which is just what this brand encompasses. They create garments and looks that can go from day to night with little to no change in appearance. They’re just that stunning that you need only the slightest change of accessories and you’re ready for work or play. When talking with executive sales director, Ian Schiffer, he told me that this brand is for the modern woman. Someone who is an influencer – that possess personal style and taste. She’s classy, but never predictable.
The spring 2012 collection is swoon-worthy for sure. In fact, some of the pieces are made from crushed metal. Yes, I’m being serious! Of course, knowing my obsession with yellow, I went straight for the yummy yellow coat (pictured below) and OMG it was the softest coat I’ve every felt. When I asked Ian what this was made from, he gave me this smirk and said cotton mixed with crushed metal. I’m sure the look on my face was, seriously? Get out of town?? But, nope, he wasn’t joking. It’s a gorgeous lightweight coat, and I would kill to get my hands on one for my own collection. It will come in several other colors next spring, so if yellow isn’t your cup of tea, there are a few other options to choose from.

The rest of the collection was just as gorgeous. There was a lot of color, mixed with the ever-popular black and white. I was a little jealous of this showroom, to be honest. It puts my closet to shame. There was just so much sophistication in these clothes! They scream chic and fabulous, yet classy and unpretentious. When I grow up, I want to have a closet full of Helios & Luna! It truly is a label you can’t ignore, nor live without…

LOVE this line – many times, Designer clothes lines don't translate well into “everyday life” out here in middle America – but this line has so many looks that I think would be FABulous! Thanks for being our “Ambassador of Fashion” here in Arkansas!
