Joy Cioci: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2012
By Sarah Kleinhenz, Fashion Week Correspondent
I started Friday night with the Joy Cioci presentation, and let me tell you, she is one ah-mazing designer! With a glass of wine in hand and upbeat music playing throughout, you couldn’t help but get excited about this collection. I LOVE anything bold and bright, and her collection was my dream color palette. It was filled with red, orange, blue, lilac and apricot hues. Silk chiffon was the standout fabric used throughout the designs. Each model rocked their look with such confidence, it made you want to purchase and wear it immediately.
Oh, and let’s not forget the hair! Marie Robinson Salon created wavy, short bobs to go perfectly with each models look. The makeup was by NARS and was subtle and soft, with a pop of color on the lips. AND we can’t forget about the shoes, hello??? Models donned fabulous Pour La Victoire pumps in nudes, blacks and pinks. There were peep-toes, closed toes, flats and sky-high heels. Joy herself was walking around talking to everyone about her collection. She was so sweet and humbled by the crowd around her oohing and ahhing over her masterpieces. I am a new HUGE fan of Joy’s. She creates these pieces that give off this romantic, innocent, feminine-style vibe, I just couldn’t get myself to leave the room. If you’re a bold-color lover like me, you’ll love spring/summer with Joy Cioci!
P.S. Not only did the Ben-Amun Lucite jewelry perfectly compliment the collection’s punchy colored romance and detailing, but it worked in unison with the model’s Lucite-tipped manicures. All of the Lucite pieces (like this cuff!) from Ben-Amun are available at Max&Chloe.
