Shoshanna Gruss Launches QVC Jewelry Collection This Monday

Designer Shoshanna Gruss has partnered for the second year with jewelry designer Judith Ripka to launch Shoshanna’s Fashion Jewelry Essentials for QVC. Watch QVC on Monday at 9:00 a.m. central or log on to QVC.com to get a glimpse of the most gorgeous sparkly jewels for the holidays (there is so much more than is shown here – and so many more colors!). I’m squealing in my over-the-knee wedges right now! I heart this collection so much because I am such a girl about sparkle. If my jewelry doesn’t have glitz, what’s the point, ya know? And what’s even better about this line is I can actually afford more than one piece. Double squeal! My favorite pieces are shown here, and I was lucky enough to ask Shoshanna a few of my pining questions, so here ya go:

I Heart Heels: How does designing jewelry compare to designing other things – is it easier since you don’t have to worry about flgure flattering?
Shoshanna Gruss: There are a lot less limitations with designing jewelry because you don’t have to worry about the fit issue. It’s so much fun to come up with a concept, and then see it executed in a sample. I designed my Shoshanna dress collection and swim collection to be as inclusive of as many different women’s shapes and sizes as possible.

I love that my jewelry collection for QVC is such an amazing price point. It’s another great way to include as many different woman as possible. I think fashion should be fun and inclusive, and selling on QVC really allows me to reach such a broad audience and sell beautiful jewels at an amazing price point.


IHH: How did you meet Judith Ripka?
SG: Judith lives near my parents. We met in our neighborhood walking our Maltese dogs when I still lived at home. We would also chat, and always had such nice, easy conversations. Sometimes Judith would give me wonderful advice about running my business. I had always admired the amazing business she built, and grew to admire her as an incredible mother, business woman and great friend. She really became like a mentor to me. We had talked about doing something together for a few years before this amazing collaboration came about.


IHH: I love bracelets, and am obsessed with both the metallic Toggle bracelets (just below) and the Pave Crystal Stretch bracelets (above). What would you pair with these bracelets since they’re such statement pieces?
SG: I LOVE the statement bracelets. I think this season is going to be all about statement cuffs and bracelets. I love the idea of wearing a cuff on each wrist. So chic, and they go so well with the menswear-inspired looks we are seeing everywhere.

I also am so loving the idea of wearing watches again. I haven’t been wearing watches a lot in the past few seasons, and I think they feel so fresh again. Also, I love the idea of mixing the metallics together. Not wearing things too matchy matchy. I love the gold silver and rose gold together, or the gunmetal and silver tones together. [It’s all about] mixing new, big statement cuffs and bracelets with more delicate ones you might already have in your closet.


IHH: What piece from the collection would you give your best friend?
SG: I think one of the most versatile pieces in the new collection are the set of three ombre crystal bangles. I might even gift it to her in two different colors so she could pile them on and really mix and match. I also love that they have my intertwining heart logo hang tag on them – a true symbol of love and friendship, so she always knows I’m there if she ever needs me.
