NY Fashion Week F/W 2010: Nanette Lepore
I must admit, I think Nanette Lepore‘s fall collection is stunn-ing. By far, my fav of any this season (and so cute how her daughter walked the runway with her at the end)! The only problem with this collection is I don’t wear much red, so I might have to change my tune and just go for it this year. Walk on the wild side. The crimson looks in this collection have me drooling, and I’m def going to scoop up some of the pretty plaid. Check out correspondent D.’s – of Ferohhhsh.com – first-hand look (jealous!) of the collection for I Heart Heels here:
Although the designer is said to be inspired by Renaissance paintings, Nanette Lepore’s Fall 2010 Collection gave me a vintage, 70’s, trippy vibe….maybe it was the bold colors and use of what looked like crushed velvet. Lepore used an autumnal palette (magenta, cherry, olive, gold, cinnamon), and balanced the romance of the sihouettes with military detailing such as buckles and cargo pockets. Lepore said of her inspiration: “I looked at a Renaissance portrait and bumped up the colors”. Standout pieces were a cinnamon wool coat with buckles at the sides, and an olive silk and velvet anorak.

I absolutely love the plaid print on that blue shirt-dress. The plaid scarf looks really charming, too.
