NY Fashion Week F/W 2010: Matthew Ames
I must tell you Matthew Ames is a designer to watch. He moved his collection from Paris to New York this fall with the help of the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation (review on that show soon!). Fluid pieces that will take your breath away. H. covered this show for I Heart Heels, and here’s her exclusive coverage:
Matthew Ames Fall 2010 line was a fashion-forward show at famed Milk Studios. It’s a line to mix and match with so many wearable pieces! The inspiration for this season was Androgynous Beauty. Beautiful tailoring so that both men and women can wear the same pieces. A neutral color palette of grey, black, ochre, beige, pale blue and white. Jackets that are full and show movement, crew neck tops that you can wear fitted or loose. The collection includes everything from shorts and skirts to softly flowing pants and pleated trousers. It is a beautifully constructed line – wearable by so many shapes and sizes. The fall collection is everything a woman would want for everyday wear – dressy and easily packable for that next vacation away. The hair and makeup for the show was a very androgynous, clean look much like the clothing. Pale peach on the eyes and cheeks, and a clean, masculine parted ponytail.
