NY Fashion Week Spring 2010: John Patrick Organic
The John Patrick Organic show was this morning at Keen’s Steakhouse, and Aveda‘s team brought out the glamour and glitz. I absolutely love this Bohemian-chic hairstyle by lead stylist Odile Gilbert and Dennis Clendennen from Dionysus of The Woodlands, TX.
The freeflowing curls pulled back with barrettes look like a style you and I could actually pull off on our own, right? It only involves three products: Aveda Phomollient™ Styling Foam, Aveda Air Control™ Hair Spray and Aveda Light Elements™ Shaping Wax. How cool is that?
You’ll want to use the styling foam first to prep, then brush into a deep side part. Divide your hair into three sections (bottom, sides and top) and use the spray for shine & hold. Use a 1-inch barrel curling iron to curl small sections, starting at the nape of the neck. Continue curling as you loop hair around your finger and hold with a clip. (Spray each curl as you go with the spray!) Make sure you leave about an inch of uncurled hair. Then bring this piece forward and curl, securing with a hair clip to cool.
This season, I wanted to dig deep below the surface of Bohemian
style, and create a free-spirited look that’s chic, pretty, and fresh. – John Patrick Organic
Brush all of the curls through, except for the front piece. Use the wax over the top to reduce flyaways. Now, you can remove the front clip and twist slightly for volume. Pull your hair back with a large barrette that matches your hair color. Spray directly, and then all over. Voila – instant glam girl!
