NY Fashion Week Spring 2010: ADAM by Adam Lippes
**Updating images. stay tuned!!**
Besides covering Jill Stuart, Dani was also on hand last weekend to spy on the latest ADAM collection by Adam Lippes, one of my favorite designers (loved his show last February!). Here’s what went down.
Who/What/Why: ADAM by Adam Lippes Spring 2010
Location: MILK Studios, 450 W 15th Street
The Collection: The inspiration for ADAM’s Spring 2010 collection was an island off the Kenyan coast (where the designer vacations), as was reflected in the resort-inspired silhouettes – loose tanks and tees, slouchy shorts, tissue tunics and chic rompers – in a blend of pastels, sunny brights, florals and neutrals.
The Takeaway:Overall, very wearable. While a show full of staples and basics may not be as exciting as other more creative visions, it was refreshing to see something that was actually RTW. And I definitely see a slouchy, jersey tunic in my future.
Hair: Yannick D’Is/Barex [hair was dried and parted in the middle, lightly texturized with only serum and a bit of volumizing hairspray.]
Makeup: Romy Soleimani/MAC [Light gold shadow, lightly defined eyes, sunkissed skin. MAC Eye Shadow in Modelette, MAC Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze and Golden and a mixture of Touch and Fresh Brew lipsticks were used to create a rich, beachy, “ladies who sun” look.]
