Exclusive Interview! Adrienne Bailon
If you’re like me, you used to love TRL (I do admit, I was obsessed with Carson Daly!) and couldn’t wait to get home from school to turn on the tube to your fav new artists. Last month, ex-Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon took to the soundstage to premiere “New Afternoons on MTV,” TRL’s replacement. I had the amazing chance to sit down and chat with Adrienne about her new (super-cool!) gig and what it’s like living in the city (oh, and her LOVE for all things high heels!).
She’s just 25, and already host of her own programming on MTV, and she admitted to me it’s her dream-come-true. “It’s such an honor to be a part of MTV, and it’s so great to come home – New York is where I’m from,” she says. Growing up in New York, Adrienne used to stand outside of TRL to get a glimpse of the show, so she has an extreme appreciation for it (she’s an MTV-generation girl, after all).
Every day, you can catch Adrienne hosting in between three shows – “Sex…with Mom and Dad,” “Room Raiders 2.0” and “Parental Control.” During the 4-6 pm time slot, celeb guests drop by and provide couch time where they sit and chat, give their opinions and watch the shows.
Moving from LA to the city (did I mention she found the perfect apartment down the hall from her sister – how perfect is that??) has inspired a wardrobe change (especially with the snowstorms – goodbye sunny Cali!), and Adrienne says she’s absolutely addicted to her BCBG puff jackets because they look great, but still keep her warm. “It’s freezing outside!” she insists. Her fav everyday attire (when she’s not hosting, of course)? Kain tees, black Lanvin boots, jeans, a scarf (and of course, her BCBG puff jacket). Oh yeah, and Tom Ford shades. “I have like five pairs of them!” she says. And she tells me bloggers (not me, not me) are always saying she wears her YSL platform heels all the time. Her response? “Yes, I do love them, so leave me alone!” Hey, Adrienne, there’s no shame in being a repeat offender on boots you love – I wear my riding boots out!
So, the question is – does Adrienne heart her heels? Of course, she does! She’s only 4’11” and so high heels are a must (especially those gray and white snakeskin Louboutins). “I live in heels!” she admits. Funny, so do we!!
P.S. Adrienne has a couple of songs on the Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack everyone on the Web is going crazy over. Here’s a sample of “Big Spender.” Sure inspires me to shop!
