Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week F/W 2011: DANNIJO
By Tiffany Reo, Guest Blogger & Fashion Week Correspondent
Although Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week doesn’t technically kick off until tomorrow, the previews leading up to the main event have been packing a glamorous punch! The opulent sisters/jewelry designers (Danielle and Jodie Snyder) of DANNIJO did not disappoint at their Fall 2011 presentation. A “log cabin” gallery (they even served hot spiked apple cider out of mugs!) staged two scenes with six models, perfectly styled from their garments to their hair and finished off with jewelry that didn’t just make a statement, but carried a conversation. Big, bold, bad-to-the-bone necklaces, cuffs and rings merged the designers’ vision of integrating the Wild West and the Roaring 20s. The pieces were an excellent blend of edgy elements, unusual silhouettes and just the right amount of glitz. If I said I absolutely need one of these pieces in my life sooner rather than later, that would be an understatement.
Editor’s Note: Omigosh, we are completely hearting the necklace in the first photo. Can we please have this for breakfast, lunch and dinner?? YUM.
