If you’ve been looking for that stop-you-in-your-tracks glamour from the Fall 2011 shows, then just look to Pamella Roland. This red carpet veteran presented an exciting collection sprinkled with vibrant inspiration from the “Far East.” Rich color and texture opened the show, a floor-length coat in a shade of Cabernet – topped off with a fur hat – set the tone. Outerwear was dominant: swing coats, capes, jackets with embroidery and striking collars had a big presence in the ready-to-wear looks. Then we eased into dresses. Cocktail looks and a sleek jumpsuit are sure to fill fall’s finest soirees. But of course, save the best for last. A smorgasbord of evening dresses filled the stage like tonight’s Oscars. There was glitz, glam, prints and even some fringe. I love dresses that celebrate all the frills of being feminine, but my favorites were the dresses that took the less-is-more route. The balance of glamazon to understated chic was appreciated, leaving a little something for all of us style stalkers in the crowd.

“Having lived in Asia, I was inspired by the culminating of old with new, Western technologies with Eastern tradition, modern cityscapes with rural farmland and the colors of field harvests and urban skylines.” — Pamella Roland
