Whiny Wednesday: Flex Time
When I look at these new pediped Jake sneakers of little C’s, it makes me realize he’s not a baby anymore. (Go ahead and insert sad face here). I know, as if I needed shoes to realize this, but it’s my language. His feet aren’t tiny anymore…in fact, he wears this size 8 just fine (I was thinking they might be a tad too big, but nope.). He finally outgrew his navy pediped sneakers from last year…out with the old, in with the new, as they say. When pediped provided these for my little man, I was over the moon. Every season, he needs a new pair of go-to sneakers, and these are the ones. (psst…they actually have more than 80 new styles in their fall/winter collection!)
In case you were wondering the laces are fake (wink), and it has a Velcro strap, so they’re still very easy to get on and off (which at this age is still very important…although I must say he’s becoming very interested in learning to tie a shoe). Like I said, the size 8 fits him pretty well, but if it didn’t, I would be glad for the Flex Fit System™ , which provides additional insoles that can be inserted for a snug fit – then removed for room as the child’s foot grows. The insoles can reduce shoe size by almost half a size, extending the life of the shoe. Genius, right? little C. wore these sturdy shoes to a huge outdoor playground while his daddy hiked a mountain (no biggie) and chased him up and down climbing walls and steps (um, just like his daddy, perhaps?). Knowing he had on these shoes actually made me feel more comfortable…such traction!
I must admit getting him to wear what I want him to wear these days is a nightmare (read the previous post), but on days when I can get him in these shoes, it makes me happy. He looks like such the charming little boy of mine that he is. But, I’m not biased, right? 😉

One more thing…this is so cool! Former National League Pitcher Tom Glavine speaks in this video about pediped’s new Athletic line (shown here…gonna have to scoop up this orange pair for little C. soon!). A couple of years ago, we actually ran into Tom at the snowcone stand on vacay…small world, no?
