One to Watch (Closely!): Marissa Webb
If I told you I’m moving on to spring clothing, would you roll your eyes at me? No, really. I’m not buying anything else for fall/winter (especially since my fav store in town informed me spring starts arriving any day now…). While I love fall clothing, I can’t wait to embrace all the lightweight color once again for spring that just makes me so darn happy! The rompers, the heels…I do believe I want all of designer Marissa Webb‘s spring/summer collection. Stat.
Marissa’s actually the former VP of womenswear design at J.Crew (ahhh, yes…) and last season showcased her collection at fashion week for the first time. I love her mix of hard and soft. I’ve really been wanting to find some amazing blazers to pair with silks and chiffons and frilly little things and I love how she does this in her collection, specifically. It’s fresh and new – exciting! A moto vest, a silk pant and, hello, a soft, green sequin top. I’ve died and gone to girly heaven. Hold me back! Marissa’s also embracing the huge black and white trend – I’ve been searching high and low for one of those ballerina-like tulle skirts. Check this one out.
And now, drumroll please. To complete the looks, Marissa has a line of amazing shoes including the Willa Pointed Toe Pump, the Thea Peep Toe Pump, and the Marina Sandal Flats in a range of colors including neon yellow, caribbean green (the same soft shade of the sequin top!), black/white and flame. EEK..spring can’t come soon enough. My closet needs these. All of them.
