Jules Chronicles: The Photo That Changed Everything
Ever has unkind words said to you? Me? It happens all the time. In fact, it’s part of putting yourself out there. I remember way back in 2008 when I first started my blog and the Internet was buzzing with “trolls.” Besides that, it was the beginning of Twitter and social media, and anyone could say anything. I’d combat haters on the regular who didn’t like the way I dressed, or what’s more, just bloggers trying to compete. It was part of my blogging life. Thick skin.
The truth is, I’ve never been a stranger to hate. I grew up a redhead; it was inevitable to be different. But once I hit my mid-30s, I found a new love for myself and new confidence. Unfortunately, hate still hit me in the worst way, and it was comments about this photo that will forever change my mindset for good.
I AM STRONG. I AM COURAGEOUS. I AM BEAUTIFUL.
And, nothing, not even hateful words, will stop me from being the unique person I am – kind-hearted, a little spunky and a lot of beauty on both the inside and out. I love this photo. I can feel the adversity, the determination and that pure persistence in my eyes. The day I took this I gained respect and self love for my own self. And what more can you ask of that? Total empowerment to be my best self
I’m special, made precious and loved in my Savior’s eyes, just as you are, and, quite honestly, that’s enough to satisfy me. ❤️
Spread kindness today like confetti, and forget all the haters. Because those are the people who drive me further. 👊🏻
Just keep going, and don’t look back because you’re not going that way…
