Live Magnificently By Letting Go
Life is a funny old thing. The more you try to cling to it, the harder it becomes. But the moment you let go, everything seems to slot into place. It looks like a great paradox. But when you think about it a little deeper, everything becomes clear. By letting go, we give up the idea that we’re somehow in control. Allowing the current of life to take us along makes the whole process infinitely more enjoyable.
In many ways, though, we have lost our way as individuals and as a society. We think that we must grip onto the world with all our might for sheer survival. Otherwise, we will all perish.
You can see the effect of this type of thinking everywhere. The lockdowns are a case in point. The message from our society is that it is better to be safe than to live magnificently, in full view of the risks that life naturally poses. Some people in our community believe that lockdowns should become a permanent feature of our lives, even for things like the winter flu that never carried any restrictions in the past.
You see a similar attitude in relationships. One lover will often smother another, pushing them away.
It also happens in people’s careers. They spend so much time worrying about losing their jobs that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Tragic, really, when you think about it.
Living Magnificently
There is, however, another way to live. Instead of cowering from danger (as society instructs you to do), you can stretch out and live your life to the full. It doesn’t matter if something seems brazen or foolish – what counts is your lived experience.
That’s not to say that you should throw caution to the wind and blow all your money. But it does mean changing how you relate to the world internally.
You can, for instance, keep your job. But don’t cling to it by telling yourself stories about how dreadful your life will be without it. Instead, just accept that it won’t be around forever and believe that that’s “okay.”
Living magnificently also means living without fear of what others might think. Again, our present culture really harms us in this regard. Social media forces us to compare ourselves against other people continually. But this is a recipe for destroying our happiness – not something we want.
As a culture, we are only just getting acquainted with the many ways that we can control our minds. One option is to buy CBD oil online to reduce stress and anxiety. But there are many others: yoga, meditation, exercise, and mindfulness, to mention just a few.
These techniques aren’t just buzzwords. They are powerful tools that genuinely make a difference in people’s lives.
