First Look at Bionda Castana for Spring
I love nothing more than a break from shows every now and then during fashion week. This time my break was visiting the Bionda Castana shoe showroom in Soho (which is also where they film Project Runway). Le sigh…it’s a tough life, right? I mean, someone has to spread the word on these shoes. I always love finding the next big thing in shoes, and girlies I’m pretty sure this label is “it.” It’s a luxury label, so it’s found in Nordstrom and Saks among others, and hopefully it will be found in this girl’s closet very soon. The label has been around for about five years now, and after meeting with co-designer Natalia Barbieri at the showroom the other day, I see much more success in the works.
The Bionda Castana line is luxury and def statement-worthy, but these shoes are also completely wearable (you know the kind that aren’t, right?). I love the quality, but also the attention to detail. When I arrived to see these shoes for spring, it was as if I had walked into a candy store of goodies. Embellished and playful, and on trend yet wearable with so many outfits in the closet. I love the stretchy black sling on the back of the neon heels; I heart the scalloped edges and the watercolor design. A shoe can be a work of art; it’s what makes the outfit complete, after all. And as I’ve said before, buy yourself a pair of pointy toe pumps this spring and never look back.
P.S. Big thanks to Industry and Bionda Castana for having me! You guys are the nicest. xo
