I heart my mama because she truly is the kindest, most unselfish person I've ever met. She takes in people and animals alike, and never complains. She is the epitomy of love. When she used to drop me off at school as a child, her last words were always, “Make somebody happy today.” Those are the wisest words to live by. I am a better person just for having known her, and I am the luckiest person alive to have her as my mama.

I love my mom because of the extreme sacrifices she's made for my disabled brother and I. She was always a full time mom in addition to becoming a successful lawyer. Even today with two grown kids she continues to support us and show us what it takes to be productive members of society. I really look up to my mom for her decision back in 1987 to not send my brother to a group home when he was born 3 months premature. Instead she brought him home and provided therapy 6 days a week. No matter what any MD “claimed” she raised my brother into a young man who goes to college and eventually wants to work in radio broadcasting. She never listened to the men who told her he would be a vegetable, never walk and never talk. I learned from her to never give up and always question the negativity that people throw my way. And despite all this, she still made Mommy/daughter time with me. I wouldn't be who I am today if I didn't witness that endless dedication and love she has showered us with for all these years.

I love my Mom so much…she has been gone for 15 years and I still miss her everyday. She died at the age of 62 of cancer. It was way too young. She was my inspiration and still is. I always think…what would my Mom think. I still see her in women walking down the street. It is such a jolt but a good one..knowing I will never forget her face. She taught me love she taught me patience she taught me humor…I miss you Mom

I Heart Mama … yes I do! From my mother’s stories I see that in every generation young women start out their lives with similar dreams but life pulls and pushes them into many different directions. No matter which direction you go, my mama taught me be my own person. Be YOUtiful in what you do, dont worry about being “beautiful”. Live, laugh and love. Celebrate each day…

I ❤ Mom because against all odds she raised 5 children almost single handedly during a very challenging marriage. My Mother was the life, the sense and heart of the family who loved, protected and prospered each of us while sacrificing her own happiness. My Mom was able to experience much happiness in her life when she was older and we are all thrilled for that. xox

I heart my mama because she has an uncanny sense about people. She just knows good people from the moment she meets them. When I was out on our porch breaking up with my first boyfriend, she was doing pirouettes and ballet leaps inside the house (which only I could see through the window), so I wouldn't be too sad about it. She'll never fail to give a stranger a compliment, and she has excellent taste — clothing, art, home decor. She never objected to my raiding her closet (though her precious shoes were safe because we were never the same size. She wears a 6; I'm an 8.5). Actually, on that note, I kind of owe her a handbag, because my most recent acquisition, my current handbag, was stolen-with-permission from her closet.

I heart my Mom for many reasons…early on in her life, she broke cultural stereotypes & an orthodox upbringing to become the 1st woman graduate in our family. She battled a bad marriage and had the guts to walk out on it against family wishes and in a cultural background where divorce is considered a big stigma. After divorce she studied and went on to become a teacher and raised me single handedly without any financial support. We didn't have much, but I was brought up to become a fiercely independent woman. 10 years ago mom, got breast cancer & the doctors had no hope of her recovery as it was detected in the 3rd stage. Again she proved everyone wrong and goes on to break stereotypes till today! Love her to death! She's amazing!

My mom's importance in my early life, is maybe eclipsed only by the importance of her absence in my later life. She is disabled now after coming out of a diabetic coma when I was 6, but looking back, her influence on my life is highlighted that much more now that she can't be there for me. To me, that just reinforces the role moms play in general and I love that. I do, indeed, heart my mom!

I heart my Mama because she Loved w/all her heart, was generous to a fault & overlooked the faults of those she cared about. She set a good example by going back to school for her Nursing degree when I was a Teen, & taught me the unconditional love of a Parent for their Child. I was extremely Lucky to have a MIL who had all the same virtues & also taught me that you CAN have a great relationship w/a DIL! They have both passed away & not a day goes by that I don't think of something their wisdom & caring could help me with!!!((1955nursehjc4me(at)myway(dot)com)) Thanks for the chance!

I heart my mama because she has always been there for me. She's my idol- staying strong and forgiving the pain her beloved ones caused sometimes, giving love and warmth, alone taking care of three children and still managing to look her best always!

I love my momma because she doesn't give up on us. I grew up with 3 older brothers who had bad attitudes and troubles with the law. She didn't stop helping them and they turned out just fine in the end. she showed me not to give up. @minimisfit

I HEART MY MOMMA because she keeps me the grounded person that I am. Honestly, I don't see how I would manage to live without her. As cliche as this is going to sound she is honestly my best friends and I absolutely love having mother & daughter bonding especially when we go shopping. She has given so much to me these past years of my life and it would be a blessing and honor to give her such a beautiful bag. She always told to never give up and always to believe in myself. I'm going to take that advice and hope that I win this contest. Thank you for the generous opportunity. xx
