The Clarisonic Changed My Skin
I had been hearing about how “life-changing” the Clarisonic was for at least the past year now. It seemed everyone was doing it. So, a couple of months ago when I was offered to try the Clarisonic PLUS ($225), I jumped on it. Here’s the deal with my skin. It’s fair. It’s sensitive. It’s very oily. It’s very acne-prone. Yikes, I know, weep with me. I’ve been a fan of ProActiv for quite awhile (the salicylic acid in it is a must for my acne), but yet my skin has never had that clearness, and the oil just never seemed to go away.
Last time I went to have my eyebrows waxed, the lady asked me if I ever had a facial. Hmmm…my skin was that bad? It opened my eyes and made me realize I needed to start trying something new – like the Clarisonic. After all, it is recommended by dermatologists (and every other friend, which counts for a lot, too!). Yep, it’s pricey, but completely worth the splurge. Here’s my routine for the past two months: I use the Clarisonic twice a day (in the morning, in the shower – yep, my favorite part). I never knew you had to use a cleanser with the brush (duh, the blonde part of me shining through), but you do. And the PLUS even comes with the best little cleansers – so far I like the Gentle Hydro Cleanser because, once again, I have delicate skin. After wetting the brush and coating my skin with cleanser, it literally takes a minute to run the Clarisonic across my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. It even beeps after each area to let you know when to move on to another area.
I’m not going to lie to you and tell you this machine cleared up my acne in a day! If you have acne-prone skin like mine, you are going to need to continue using your proper cleanser and creams along with the Clarisonic to get the full effect. You know what I have noticed? The Clarisonic has completely redefined my skin. It gets down and dirty in the pores, removing every last stitch of make-up at night, and exfoliates like crazy. So, when I apply my make-up now, it really goes on smooth. My skin feels so much better, for real. I actually went to the dermatologist earlier this week – he got his magnifying glass and said my skin looked so much better. I didn’t tell him it was more of the Clarisonic than the cream he gave me.
P.S. There is also a body brush that haven’t really needed so much, but I do plan to use to exfoliate the next time I get a spray tan (hello, Fashion Week!).
