Have you ever watched The Hills or The City? Well, embarrassingly enough (or wait, that’s not embarrassing, that’s cool, right?!) I am a huge fan (especially of The City – team Whitney Port!). That means you know who Kelly Cutrone is, no? Have you watched her new show on BRAVO, Kell on Earth? I’ve heard so many good things about it on Twitter, but sad enough, I have not been able to watch it because I (sheepishly admit) don’t have BRAVO. But…I am reading her new book, If You Have to Cry Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You (a NY Times Bestseller, $22.99), and I think you should, too! That’s why I’m giving it away to TWO lucky readers this week. Just enter below, and cross your peeptoes! (Oh, and click here to read an excerpt of the book online.)
A couple of things about Mama Wolf (you might not know!):
Kelly’s first husband was Ronnie Cutrone, a well-known pop artist, protégé to Andy Warhol and former whip dancer in the Velvet Underground. She has kept his name and passed it along to her daughter, Ava.
By chance circumstances in 1995, Atlantic Records offered Kelly a record deal. After she recorded an album and went on tour she realized that, despite promises of money and fame, rock stardom was not for her.
P.S. I deal with People’s Revolution quite frequently through this blog and they are some of the coolest people you’ll ever meet (Stefanie, Emily, Grace and the whole gang!) At Fashion Week last year, I overheard Kelly herself manning the sound booth just before the models took the runway. A hardworking woman, indeed!
