Sneak Peek! Patricia Nash F/W 2011
By Tina Smithers, Guest Blogger
Walking into the Patricia Nash showroom to view her Fall 2011 line was akin to stepping into the handbag version of a Frye boots boutique. Strong leather shoulder bags and satchels with intricate stitching and brass buckles rested upon glass shelves. Beautiful bags colored with chestnut, black, evergreen and a stunning floral-print leather sat in a floor-to-ceiling display, as I envisioned rocking this bag with a bohemian maxi dress. I soon found that the bag I was eyeing is Patricia’s best seller, called the Barcellona. During the preview, I actually caught up with designer Patricia Nash to ask her a few questions!
I Heart Heels: Which bag is your personal favorite?
Patricia Nash: As far as style, the Lione is my favorite bag; I’ve carried it forever. But I’ve also since fallen in love with the Barcellona saddle bag, it’s one of our best sellers. I fell in love with the ease of it all—I can wear it across my body, and the big pocket in front is so convenient. Embarrassingly so, I’ve even found myself wearing it when it’s not even appropriate with my outfit. It is really an incredible bag to be an urbanite with.

IHH: Describe your line in five words.
PN: It’s European vintage Italian leather.

IHH: What is the best thing about your collection?
PN: I would say the leather and the construction. I get a lot of my inspiration from vintage bags I find in Italy, Spain and England.

IHH: Which bag would you say is best suited for a pair of heels?
PN: Our metallics are fantastic. Also, the Ravenna satchel (see photo, top right) would be great with a black pair of pumps; the color-blocking would really set them off.
