Michael Kors Opens on Robertson Boulevard

Here’s something to give thanks for this week: L.A.’s paparazzi-friendly Robertson Boulevard is getting a shiny new addition just in time for the holidays! Last week, Michael Kors opened a lifestyle boutique on this celeb-filled strip of shops that includes Kitson, Rebecca Taylor and Intermix, among many others. And I Heart Heels was lucky enough to be invited!
The grand opening, hosted by stylist Petra Flannery and benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, was well attended by top celebrity stylists, celebrities and taste makers, including the gorgeous Zoe Saldana as well as Cat Deeley, Minka Kelly and Annie Ilonzeh from Charlie’s Angels and American Horror Story’s Kate Mara. Celeb stylists Jessica Paster and Jen Rade (famous for styling celebs such as Emily Blunt and Angelina Jolie, respectively) also attended.
My favorite looks of the night? Minka Kelly’s optic-white stretch boucle sheath dress with gold leather detail (MK resort ’12) and a gold leather Quinn clutch to coordinate – and Zoe Saldana’s marigold wool crepe sheath (MK spring ’12) with cocoa Quinn clutch (MK fall ’11) and cocoa triple-strap stilettos (MK resort ’12).
DJ Alexandra Richards looked stunning in a MICHAEL Michael Kors black leather motorcycle jacket, black and gold painted paillette shift dress and black embossed python open-toe booties (MK resort ’12).
The gorgeous boutique felt a bit more hip than the brand’s Rodeo shop and had a bigger selection of holiday shoes, bags and apparel than most other Michael Kors shops I’ve visited. While most guests were chatting, browsing and drinking champagne, I made it a point to get some holiday shopping done! Michael Kors leather goods and watches make perfect gifts, and, of course, I treated myself to some platform booties and sequined pants (which Cat Deeley specifically told me I just HAD to have).
Overall, the launch party was a huge success with plenty of celebs, helpful sales associates, great tunes, champagne and cute waiters. I have a feeling I’ll be back to the Robertson boutique for more shopping before the New Year!
